LOS ANGELES BASED HORN

PLAYER & TEACHER

ABOUT RACHEL

Rachel Lauson is a versatile horn player and educator based in Los Angeles. Emerging in the freelancing scene, she has performed with orchestras such as the Downey Symphony, Bakersfield Symphony, Dream Orchestra, and held the Principal Horn Fellowship with the California Young Artists Symphony. She's also ventured into multi-genre performance with collaborations such as Metro Boomin Red Bull Symphonic and her membership in Cali Brass. A passionate educator, Rachel teaches through the nonprofit Harmony Project LA and is available for private lessons.

Rachel is an incredible French horn teacher. Since I started private lessons with her, my playing and my tone have improved significantly. Rachel does so much more than just assign pieces for me to practice and go over them during the lesson. She helps me with breathwork and understanding all aspects of the horn. I feel much more confident and motivated towards playing my instrument than before I met Rachel.

“Outside of my musical endeavors, I enjoy staying active, spending time with friends, reading, and working my barista job. Having grown up in the brutal winters of Minnesota, I love taking advantage of being outside at the beach or in the mountains of sunny Southern California!”
